Hilariously i am used to following the book instructions to the letter, and on this page they miss out 'change the colour' and 'change mode to multiply'. I am extremely grateful for your help with this! Thank you!Īhhhhhhh!!!!!!! I have just figured it out - it's the COLOUR OF THE DROP SHADOW!!!! It's still white!!! Ahahahahaha. Use layer effects only when you need to dynamically alter individual symbol layers independently. Specifies the percentage of opacity you want for the drop shadow. Specifies a blending mode for the drop shadow. Select options for Drop Shadow, and select OK: Mode. This results in a simpler symbol than one with effects at the layer level. Select an object or group (or target a layer in the Layers panel). If youre not sure, add the effect as a global effect under the Symbol heading. I have the transparency on the layer you mentioned. The layer i am trying to add the drop shadow to is the image on the left of the first screen shot - as you see there is no drop shadow (and still isnt after i press ok on these settings). I have the transparency on the layer you mentioned. Click Add effect under one of the layers under the Layers heading to add an effect to that layer. However, in either of these settings - the drop shadow doesnt apply to the layer at all.
